Welcome!

Welcome to St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church in Shillington, Pennsylvania!  Our parish is part of the Orthodox Church in America's Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania, under the leadership and guidance of His Eminence, Archbishop Mark of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania. It was established in June 1973 under the jurisdiction of the OCA, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Kiprian, of blessed memory.

St Herman's Orthodox Church was planted in Shillington in order to witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the greater Reading area. If you are already Orthodox and wish to find out more about our parish, or perhaps if you are not an Orthodox Christian and desire to learn more about the “One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church” of Christ, please feel free to contact Father John. You are welcome to find his contact information on our web-page.

Our parish follows the "New" (Revised Julian) Calendar. All services are in English. St. Herman’s parish family is very welcoming and loving. Come, visit us, and “you will see the Glory of God!” (Jn 11, 40)
